Surin Islands are open from October 15th until May 15th during the wet season.
Popular for its coral gardens and white beaches, Surin Islands are one of the most famous diving and marine life viewing sites in the world, no doubt the best in Thailand. The islands are within Mu Koh Surin National Park. Surin Islands are an archipelago of five islands within Mu Koh Surin National Park, in Phang Nga Province. The islands are 55 km off the coast, 100 km north from Similan Islands in the Andaman Sea and just 18 km from the oceanic border of Burma. The national park covers an area of 135 km² of which 76% is sea. The main islands are Koh Surin Nuea and Koh Surin Tai which are only 200 meters apart, the corridor between both islands is shallow and a popular place for snorkeling. The other three small islands are Koh Ri, Koh Khai and Koh Klang. The islands are one of the very few untouched places in Thailand. Other than a small Mogan village and park premises, there are no other buildings on the islands.

Remark:
The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has announced the closure of the Surin Islands. Similan Islands in Phang Nga Province, from May 16 - October 15 of every year, for a total of 5 months to restore nature to be abundant comprising the period mentioned is the southwest monsoon period causing the Andaman Sea to have high waves not suitable for traveling by boat which is the closure of the annual travel season.
