One Day Hiking to explore Mae La Ma Cave (The longest cave in Thailand)
ITINERARY
Mae Lana Cave is 12.7 km long along the route that the Mae Lana River passes through the cave. It is considered the longest cave in Thailand and Asia. It takes approximately 8-12 hours to conquer and adventure in this cave. Those who go must be in good physical health and endure darkness and long walks. Because it is a cave that is classified as very difficult tier. Inside the cave is large, there are many sub-halls. The air inside is cool and comfortable. Along the way you will see stalactites, stalagmites, rock curtains and stone pillars, which in some spots are very grand and beautiful. In addition, you will also be able to see strange sparkling "Pearl Stone" including the small animals that live inside such as eyeless fish, tiny snails, tri-colored shrimp, etc. As this cave does not have any facilities and some parts of the journey were difficult, sometimes you may have to swim. ITINERARY
7:30 Guide will meet and greet at Mae Lana Village
Guide will give a brief introduction and advice about hiking at Mae Lana Cave
Tourists have to prepare proper shoe (Stunt shoe for hiking)
Guide will prepare ropes, life jackets and flashlights
Travel by car from the village to the cave
09:00 The car arrives at Mae Lana Cave
Start walking into the cave
Walk in for about 30 minutes and you'll come across a waterway, some deep in places and some shallow
There are about 3 mountains in the cave. Each one takes about one hour to walk
Inside the cave, there are stone pillars, stalagmites, stalactites, and pearl rocks
It takes about 4 hours to walk. After that, take a break for lunch
Have lunch in the cave. (Guide will prepare lunch box and bottled water for each person)
After lunch, start walking
Throughout the walkway, there is water and many types of large fish to see
There are three colored shrimp, each shrimp has a different color
Take about two hours to walk to Mae Lana Waterfall
Visit the Bat Palace, where there are bats on the stone pillars in the cave
See the Seven Colored Curtain, a stone curtain with seven colors that looks like a rainbow
Walk another 30 minutes to reach the Naga Head, a rock shaped like the Naga Head
Continue walking for about 30 minutes to reach the exit
18:00 Get on a car and send back to the village
