Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi is a picturesque town in western Thailand, known for its stunning natural beauty and historical significance. It's most famous for being the site of the infamous Death Railway during World War II, which was built by Allied prisoners of war under harsh conditions. Visitors can now explore the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum and walk along the railway track to pay respects to those who lost their lives during its construction. Day 1

• Pick up from hotel or meeting point in Bangkok

• Transfer to Kanchanaburi province

• Visit Don Rak Allied War Cemetery or United Nations Soldiers Cemetery-  is a large cemetery containing 6,982 corpses of prisoners of war who died during the construction of the Death Railway. This peaceful place is to the memory of those prisoners during World War II

• Lunch at local restaurant

• Visit Bridge Over The River Kwai - This bridge is one of important historical and memorials in Thailand. It is the landmark of Kanchanaburi province and is a recommended place in travel guide. The history of the bridge is well known as it was part of the railway lines in World War II.

• Visit Wat Tham Khao Pun - it was the location of a large prisoner camp during World War II and used as a medical center, there is the limestone cave that tourists can explore the beauty inside that consists of 9 rooms. Here is one of the best view points of Kanchanaburi to see the river and mountain.  

• Visit Skywalk Kanchanaburi - The new landmark of Kanchanaburi, this skywalk is a clear glass on a height of about 12 meters stretching parallel to the banks of the river with a view of the Two Colors River, The Kwae Yai and Kwae Noi rivers are met and flow together. Surrounded by beautiful views on both sides of the bridge with a long distance of 150 meters.

• Visit Erawan Waterfall is one of the most beautiful and famous waterfalls in Thailand. It has a total 7 levels, approximately 1,500 meters in length. Each level has different beauty and each floor has a basin where tourists can play in the water. Here is the good place for relaxation surrounded with greenery.

• Visit Sai Yoke National Park for nature trekking

• Ride a boat to explore the beauty of nature along the Kwai Noi River

• Visit Hell Fire-Pass Memorial Museum- is a part of the historical Thai-Burma railway route during World War II.  It is 73 meters long, 25 meters deep and 25 meters high. It was created by cutting a hole in the rocky mountain by the hands of prisoners.

• Visit Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple)- Inside the temple, there is a large Buddha image in the blessing posture enshrined on a hill with a Ubosot and Chedi is 69 meters high and 29 meters wide and can see beautiful view of the lake and Vajiralongkorn Dam from the hill.
