Surin Islands – The Untouched Paradise of the Andaman Sea
Located about 60 kilometers off the coast of Phang Nga Province, north of Phuket, the Surin Islands are a pristine archipelago known for their crystal-clear turquoise waters, vibrant coral reefs, and untouched natural beauty. As part of the Mu Ko Surin National Park, these islands are among the best snorkeling and diving destinations in Thailand, often described as a hidden gem for nature and ocean lovers.
The underwater world of Surin Islands is a spectacular display of marine biodiversity — from colorful coral gardens and schools of tropical fish to majestic sea turtles and gentle reef sharks. Snorkelers can easily spot marine life just a few meters from the shore, while divers can explore deeper reefs teeming with life. The islands are also home to the Moken, or “sea gypsies,” an indigenous tribe who have lived harmoniously with the sea for generations, offering visitors a glimpse into a unique way of life.
